Frequently asked

What people ask most often

Do I need to already live in the Czech Republic to join After Smart?

The programme starts on the day you arrive in the Czech Republic: on day one we meet, hand over the welcome pack and help you get your Lítačka. If you have not moved yet — Before Smart covers relocation support and the dorm, and After Smart kicks in right after arrival.

What's included in the 6 specialised lectures?

Higher education in the Czech Republic (how the system works), career guidance (how to choose a faculty), admission strategy (NSZ/TSP, portfolio, GPA), application submission ("přihláška" step-by-step), nostrification (process and deadlines), correspondence with universities and reviewing results. The lectures are given by school managers and guest lecturers from Czech universities.

What is "nostrification" and why is it needed?

Nostrification is the recognition of your foreign school certificate (or diploma) in the Czech Republic. Without it a Czech university will not accept your documents. We help prepare the package (translation, extracts, copies), advise which magistrate or gymnasium to approach and track the deadlines. The procedure itself is paid separately to the state body — these are the "nostrification fees".

Which universities do you help apply to?

All 26 public universities in the Czech Republic. For each student the manager picks 3–5 universities matching the specialisation, GPA and "přihlášky" budget. Our catalogue holds up-to-date information on every faculty — cut-off scores, deadlines, exam formats.

How many admission lectures do you run per year?

Six specialised lectures — enough to cover every step of the admissions campaign in detail. The manager is always personally available and answers questions between lectures. If you want deeper entrance-exam preparation — check out Smart Light and Smart Intensive.

What if I am running late with extending my documents?

That is exactly what we work to avoid. Your manager reminds you of the deadlines in advance, helps gather the documents and explains how to book the Ministry appointment with a buffer. If the deadlines do get tight — we help you understand the situation and plan the next steps. This is rare.

Can I take After Smart alone, without other programmes?

Yes, the programme is standalone. But for admission you need Czech at C1 level (and sometimes subject-specific knowledge — for medicine and technical fields). After Smart covers support and documents, while language/subject preparation is best done in parallel via Smart Light or Smart Intensive.

What about the visa — do you arrange it?

The initial study visa is arranged under the Before Smart programme — a separate programme for the “before Czechia” stage. After Smart kicks in once you arrive and helps with the visa extension at the Czech Ministry of the Interior (a completely different procedure with a different set of documents).
